After 18 years in public education, I decided it was time for a change.
I have always spent my free time, as long as I can remember, playing with technology and music. I built computers, I configured networks and helped friends and family fix technology issues. I downloaded and installed Linux distros and wrote simple codes. I taught myself to sing and play guitar and piece by piece put together and configured a small home studio of which I am proud (but never content).
I decided to pursue IT as a career during this last school year and discovered that I still have a spark for learning. I signed up for, studied hard, and passed my CompTIA A+ exam the day before my 38th birthday, and this excited me and left me wanting more. When I took and passed Security+ half a year later, I knew that this was something I could actually do.
The purpose of this site is self promotion.
I want to document my journey and my personality and thoughts and creative outlets in a way that shows you who I am. That journey will sometimes be messy. I will be wrong, and I will change my mind, and I will double back sometimes.
But I’ve never been afraid to be wrong. I only fear staying wrong.
This site is about where I am, but it is also about where I am going. So read along. Feel free to correct me or disagree. That’s how we all learn. Together.
exploration.
